The creative forces behind Hobby-Life
Hobby-Nyt ApS publishes the hobby magazine Hobby-Nyt in Denmark, Norway and Sweden,
as well as the digital magazine Hobby-Life in Danish, English and German.

The owners and editors of the magazine are Else Marie and Tage Pedersen, who are both craftsmen and owners of Tempa Håndværk. Hobby-Nyt has provided the Danish hobby world with ideas since 1993.

Else Marie and Tage Pedersen’s activity and craft centre, Tempa Håndværk, has worked professionally with the traditional crafts of wood turning and basket weaving since 1989. Through collaboration and a targeted effort, using the traditional methods without compromise, they have suceeded in creating a breathing space in a world where production is becoming increasingly automated and the same mass-produced products are found in all the chain stores.
Everything produced at Tempa Håndværk is unique.

Tage Pedersen, artist/turner
The piece of wood in front of me on the bench lathe is the starting point for my artistic expression. The result is largely determined by nature and the wood.
Pieces of wood with interesting marks left by nature provide the greatest challenge. Shapes, edges, holes or cracks in the wood
make the finished object unique through the interaction between nature and the artist’s design. In addition to the lathe, I work with a chain saw, especially for my bird sculptures.
Has published several books on wood turning. Photographer for Hobby-Life.

Else Marie Pedersen, basket weaver
My baskets are a fusion of inspiration from many countries. I combine traditional Scandinavian basketry with forms and techniques discovered on study trips to Senegal and Mexico. Baskets are like a piece of furniture; they can have a
practical function (storage) or a decorative function (nice to look at).
Has published several books on basket weaving and other hobby books.
Editor of Hobby-Life.
